I don't know how to email you, but the link is here:

This way, others can comment on it as well.

I really appreciate your help. :-)

This person has individual listings for puppies of ten different breeds, all priced at 400 dollars each. That screams puppy mill to me. I'd suggest you stay clear of that one. It isn't likely that the puppy of your dreams is going to come from a puppy mill situation, from parents that have had no health testing and a puppy that has had no critical early socialization. When you do finally get your pup, hopefully it will be a happy well adjusted and huge part of your life for the next 10 to 15 years. The odds if that happening wouldn't be in your favor with any puppy from a situation like this.

I did suggest that to Sonata as it did sound a real bargain and thought it might be a puppy mill I hope this website has been reported to Animal control or other Authourities who can look in to this. So steer well clear of this one Sonata

There is nothing wrong with thge main website (Wellbredpets.com) but this particular seller on wellbredpets has had information that it's a possible scam/or fraudulent in some way so they have closed the link to this seller Amen to that

IMO There are a LOT of things wrong with that website. The first being that there are little or no controls on who can advertise. it's a breeding ground for heartache, with an open invitation to scam artists, commercial puppy mills and backyard breeders. It breaks my heart to think that anyone would order a puppy sight unseen off the internet just as casually as if they were ordering a stuffed toy for their kids!

Well the point is the advertiser has been indentfied and hopefully banned But fair point I didn't check the whole site but you can bet there are safety measures put in place so people who feel that a advertiser who is a scam or other wise will be dealt with it's the same with any site look at Ebay not every one on there is genuine either but reports can be made against the seller/shop/private individual and Ebay will take action.

If the ad has been banned, why is it still there? The particular seller in question has other ads that have not been banned and the contact information is still available in those ads. IMO the point is; no one should be naive enough to purchase a helpless puppy from an unknown source, sight unseen over the internet. That's just asking for heartbreak. That's strictly my own opinion of course!

Iam going to take a look again and see if there is a report link button! We did both warn Sonata against it didn't we For one thing the pups are too cheap for what the should cost and that did set alarm bells ringing and what I know now would never buy from a site like this

Wow, thanks for *all* the help, you guys.

Applesmom, I went straight back to the site right after you warned me the first time. I saw that it was newly disabled, so I gather you were the one who reported it. But how did you know that the seller had several ads?

(I actually wrote to the seller earlier, but she still hasn't replied.)

I've learned a lot through this thread. Thanks. Since I'm a first-timer, this is all very helpful for me! I just don't know enough yet to be able to spot suspicious sites.

Too bad about this one. Not only was it lots more affordable, but it was within driving distance!

So what would be the closest to a Bolognese ... a Coton? A Havanese? Something else?

:-)
