What is the timeline on her being back to her usual self? So you know why this happened in the first place? Can you prevent recurrences?

Timeline; who knows, as long as it takes. Vets/specialists keep giving her ANOTHER ten days. She's approaching 30 days.

Why it happened.....just an injury after fooling about too madly, although she does seem to have a weakness there as she had a similar episode 2 years ago (hence her insurance excludes her spine).

Preventing recurrences; until someone can give us a diagnosis other than "its muscular", I don't suppose we can.

chiming in late here.. One of my dogs twisted something in her back a month or 2 ago, my osteopath told me to use wet heat - so take a facecloth, or dishrag, wet and heat in the microwave.. It worked wonders for Ducks.
