Okay it may be the colourant dyes exiting his body. Beneful uses those dyes to give their kibble that *pretty colour* look. If it continues for more than another couple weeks I would be looking into liver issues or enzyme issues.

Give him a few more weeks on the Natural Balance before you draw any conclusions. It sounds like the diarrhea/constipation cycle has been going on longer than the transition. Constipation is a normal follow-on to diarrhea. The diarrhea could have been caused by something in the old food. Your vet isn't concerned, at this point. Your dog will adjust to the new food, given a few weeks. It may clear up on its own.
