In working dogs...
This is a test they do where they subject the dogs to a series of test with strangers sounds and toys to determind stabilibility of the mind. My dobies grandma scored 300 out of 300 which was max back in the day. Now they have changed it to 600 where 300 is minimum.
Figured some people might find it interesting. In Sweden you are not looked well upon if you breed on a working dog with a low score.

Very interesting, glad you posted that Monkey.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if all breeders on every level would temperament test both parents before breeding? So much heartache could be avoided so easily with just a little thought and planning. ![]()

Oh I so agree... I see more and more unstable dogs for each year it is sad..
What I also like with the korning is that you can see the parental dogs results in the different areas. Like with the shep I liked that she wasnt that interested in strangers, but I didn't like how long it took for her how to relax and check something out, I also didn't like her endurance level when looking for the rabbit in the hole, way too short for me since I like to do search and tracking. So you can almost tailor the dogs you want by looking at this and pick the ones that has the right reactions. Now they added a new rule, you can not get the titled Korad UNLESS you are hd/ad free as well as have an approved breed standard description. So it is basically quality control all around. but yeah I did suspect you'd get a little of a kick out of it..

In my opinion, this test is very valuable. My male Hunter's sire was awarded his MH title, and I wish it were a local test because I would do it as well!

ahh they do that in Canada too? here in the states there is no such equivalence from what I have seen.. I mean I know good breeders do keep a close eye on their dogs and development but no official title from what I ever found..
