what a cute puppy!

I agree with some of the other comments, it's too hard to say what his mix may be since he's so young. some dogs are fairly obvious to figure out but i'm having difficulty figuring what yours is.

Dexter, we are happy to have you! This forum has a great group of people, and everyone is willing to share knowledge. We have some of the very best trainers. Don't forget to post some more pictures!

I have no idea but I don't think shelters are very good at identifying dog breeds.
My Sadie shows no sign of being a mixed breed and the vets and trainers agree that she is all aussie.
The shelter identified her as an aussie mix.
I'm not complaining though. If they had identified her as a pure bred then it would have cost $500 to adopt her instead of the $100 I did pay.
I met some people at the dog park recently that had a merle aussie and they did have to pay the $500. Maybe because they don't know about tri-colored aussies?

Default Update on Dexter

Dexter is now about 4.5 months old and weighing in at just under 30lbs. Here are a few recent pictures of him! He is getting so big! I have been to several Vet's offices and the humane society and each Vet tells me his is something different. I have been told Hound, German Shepard/Lab mix, and Pit Mix....he is most likely a mix of all of the above.

Dexter is one handsome guy! I can see lab/shepherd/hound mix, but I really don't see any pit in him at all. Thanks for posting the pictures. I love the last one. He looks like he is taking in some sun and enjoying himself.

How about 'pure bred' mix of unknown ancestry? That should cover ALL the bases
