Hard to tell definately without seeing what the body and tail look like.
It could be a Tamaskan.

thanks, I think you may be right. I've looked up some tamaskan pics and it seems as if she was a certain mix. (tamaskan is a mix to begin with!! ahhhh) It may be really hard to find out exactly what she was.

The one is the picture is more like the dog I had, The colouring is almost identical.

EDIT - ok I just spent the last 2 hours finding some pics because that picture isnt my old dog. Just reminded me of her.

Sorry for all that. Here are some pics. I believe when we got her they said a german sheppard Lab mix but that just cant be right.

I've noticed that the majority of lab mixes end up looking more like the lab side than anything. Of course that's not 100% of the time, just an observation on lab mixes i've noticed.

Ivy
I have one of those few that tends to look more shepard than lab, as he has the GSD snout, the mane and the tail

I'd say GSD/Husky with perhaps some lab in or another breed with the broader head

Tend to agree that most lab/gsds i've seen look quite different to the pic shown and more 'lab' like with pointier noses and bushier tails, the colouring in the pic of the dog shown is that which turns up in husky mixes IME.

The Utonagan or Inuit dogs were I believe created through crossing GSDs and the husky breeds etc until they became close to a 'wolf' appearance.

Whatever she was she was a very pretty dog.
