Default Where do his spotted feet come from?

This is Peyton, 3 month old puppy adopted from the SPCA last week. They said he was probably lab/pitt mix as his momma was a pitt mix who was brought into the shelter pregnant earlier this year.

I can definitely see both sides of the pitt and lab in Peyton, but his feet are so awkward. They are spotted, almost like a German Shorthaired Pointer. and I think his tail is almost too long to be a lab's but I could be mistaken.

He's chocolately brown/black in his coat (which makes me think the lab he is crossed with may be chocolate?) with a white stripe down his chest (pitt coloring I'm thinking) but spotted feet! Any ideas on where the spotted feet come from??

One of my dogs has spotted legs, I have no idea what it could be - pointer, dalmation? All I know is that is ONE CUTE PUPPY!! Oh those ears are too much!

Sure looks like lab in him. I don't see any pit right now. Cute one!

don't know but MotH points out that those are some pretty serious lookin' paws and you may be in for a good-sized dog there.

Sure is adorable.

I can't help it, I need to post this photo. Quality would have been so much better if I hadn't had the ISO sensitivity up so high on my camera but never the less, the cutest photo of Peyton I have so far.

the set of his eyes is what strikes me as very pit-like. Certainly terrier of some sort.
