One of my dogs barks at everything when he is left in my Van. I just put him in his crate so he cannot see out. I don't normally crate my little dogs when I am travelling and he is fine while I am in the Van with him. He is quite alright with leaving him at home so he does not go with me every time like some of my other dogs.

One goood tip is to leave her for a few seconds don't say anything, then just reapear again with out saying anything do this a few times every day and gradualy over a period of 1-2 months step up the time you aren't with her from a few secs to mins and by the end of it you could be around hrs but it has to be consistant and repetitive too, these are the keys to success in any training Good luck

Kaitlynn, something I do when I leave my house is just leave, matter of fact, without getting all "gushy and affectionate" with my dogs. I kiss all over them at other times but not when I'm leaving, so as to not make a big deal about it. Also, when I first got my newest dog I tried to shake up my leaving ritual some so the dogs wouldn't readily recognize the pattern.
