Default Is my dog full chihuahua?

I've always suspected Cotto to be some sort of mix. His face is that of a chihuahua but his body is kind of big and his snout is a little more defined than a chihuahua's. (all the more reason I love him lol)
His documents all say he's a chihuahua and my friend says that he picked him up from a chihuahua breeder as well. Just curious. Thanks!

Looks like a pure to me. The thing that would throw most people off is his size. But they arent suppose to be so small they weight nothing anyway.

The bigger the Chihuahua the more healthy they are apparently. My daughter has a teacup Chihuahua and she has been warned he may well have health problems. I would just enjoy him and not worry about what he is, he is a beautiful dog!

I've seen a lot of variation in purebred Chis so it's hard to say but I would have thought pure. he does have an interesting set of his mouth that really contributes to the personality I bet. Like he's thinking hard about what to say. And those ears! Wonderful.

I see what you mean about a more defined snout as well. The dip from forehead to nose is very pronounced which for just a moment reminds me of something other than chi. Especially noticeable in the third pic which has a good profile.

But - as I said above - there's a lot of variation in them to my eye.

He looks like a chi, but I see something that makes me look twice. On the third picture there's a pink rash, it looks like the collar might be too tight or he has a sensitivity issue. He's adorable none the less, and I think he's pure, he looks alot like the short hairs we have in Sweden

I know. My daughter's vet actually described the "teacup" as a mutant, and I agree with her!
