Default Pomchi Traits (for pomchi, pom, and chihuahua owners)

Hey there. My rescue baby is a Pomchi (at least that what we've decided) and he has lots of cute quirks that I wondered if they were specific to the mix or either breed specifically or if he's just special. My mom asks all the time "is that a pomchi thing? because if it is, I want one." lol.

He "hugs." Bailey gets in your lap or next to you in the bed and flops his head over into your chest and presses down. Anyone else's do that?

He cuddles. If you get in the bed, he wants to be right up next to you. He lays on my pillow and will not leave.

He gets up in your face. Whether it's to give kisses or to tell you something or even to super persuade by batting you with his paws, he does not believe in personal space.

He pees on doors. Here's a bad one. No matter if I walk the dog 100 times a day he will come inside and pee on doors. I've had to learn to put his "grass" which is essentially fake grass with a pee catch and pee pad underneath against a door. Or at my parents we put towels under the doors.

He has bad teeth and refuses to let me brush them. I know the bad teeth can be a pom thing, but do all of them fight like to not have them brushed?

He's very vocal. When he hears my parents' voices on skype he goes BERSERK. He howls and howls and howls. If he wants something he barks and barks and barks.

He SPRINTS. If you let him off the leash or he runs out the door, he's GONE. He'll be back in an hour or so if he can find his way (he still thinks we live on the second floor, because we did for a year). At my parents he's found ways to get out of the fence we didn't know were possible. And when he's gone, you're not going to find him until he wants to be found.

So advice on this? Are these breed things or did I just end up with the cutest brat that ever lived?

Well from the first three I thought you were describing Sophia, my Golden Retriever. I call her "snugglebun" sometimes because she so loves to snuggle. She also likes to stand up on her hind legs and hug you like a person. (Yes we discourage that! ). And she does not understand the concept of personal space at all! When she wants attention she can be pretty demanding!
It sounds like you have a character, that's for sure!

yep he's my sweet boy. just bathed him and now he's running like a maniac screaming because that's his payback for standing still while I dump soap and water on him. plus we did the anal glands today so he is NOT happy.

you have two very pretty babies. So Sophia's a golden what's Zircon?

Zircon is a mystery mutt. The shelter had him listed as a Lab/Chow mix, he was four months old at the time. It turns out there is NO labbiy in him (we had him DNA tested) but he is some kind of Asian breed like Akita or Jindo with Whippet. There is also a little Boxer. He runs around like a maniac too after he's been given a bath!

Aww, I had a lab/chow. I miss her. She was an oops puppy of someone we knew. Got her for my dad's birthday when I was in the 5th grade. She died this January, right before I got Bales. She was old and had a tumor on her lung....I stayed with her the night she died until she finally drifted off to forever sleep. She fought it real hard. She wanted to stay with me. Sandy was a good girl.
