My new little boy! Jack!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/thinks_...n/photostream/So I adopted this little 7 yr old fox terrier/jack russell mix today. His family was getting divorced and they couldn't keep him? Anyways their loss is my gain. Here is my new little boy! He's absolutely amazing so far. Still a little skittish but what do you expect on the first day!

Welcome Think (and Jack), that is one adorable pup you have there and how wonderful of you to give him a home. I agree, he is definitely your gain. Congratulations (to both of you!) and I'm looking forward to hearing much more about him and seeing tons more pictures. How big is he?

Thank you for the warm welcome :) He is 20 lbs although looks much larger in pictures. Here's one of him and his pizzle stick aka bully stick and one of his pre adoption.

He has gorgeous eyes and a wonderful smile!

He is so much more mellow than I was expecting. Might be because he's still timid. We're going to meet up with a friend and her dog tomorrow for a playdate! We'll see if I can get his real personality to shine through.

:)Welcome to the forum, Think! You and Jack are a lucky pair to have found each other. Will be anxious to hear how the playdate goes.

Welcome aboard Think :) Jack is adorable Divorces can be devistaiting to say the least but you have gained a beautiful dog :) Do you know anything about Jack? I too will be interested in hearing about the play date too! Just be cautious and watch carefuly on how it works out! First sign of any uneasyiness on either dogs part (like ears pointing back wards and tail(s) between the back legs etc) then don't make a fuss but remove Jack straight away! I am sure it will go ok but you have to be prepared for anything to happen! Good luck and enjoy the forum :)

So far I feel like I hit a doggy jackpot! He's quiet, listens, smart, gentle and loves to cuddle. I will definitely be watching out for any signs that playdate might go bad..but I've decided to do 1 on 1 playdates with all people with dogs that used to play with my old dog before he passed of cancer in june. Then once he's done all his 1 on 1's, increase to 2 then 3 dogs and eventually they should become a good group of buddies hopefully...that's the plan anyways.

Can't fault your way of thinking with that attitude all should be well :) Good luck!!!

Thanks so much! By the way...I find it hard to see fox terrier and jack russell in him. His tail curls like a shiba inu and is puffy like a fox. What breeds would you guys guess is mixed in there?
