Very interesting Dee and thanks for posting the link Ama I see the breed was named after a character in a Sir Walters Scott novel (that is unusual!!!) Normaly terriers are named after a town or county aren't they and their pedigree can be traced back to the 1700's Wow and they haven't changed that much in over 300 years what achievment!!!!! Great insight in to the breeds history! Thanks again

Yep! I've heard of them. Interesting little dogs. Not sure I'd ever want one just because of the body shape (I guess I'm more of a traditionalist, I want my dog to look like an ordinary dog, not have extreme or exaggerated features), but they do have cute faces! I also like the natural coat. I've never been a fan of the way some people trim their long furred dogs, just looks silly to me.

Well from what I read in Ama's link this breed really hasn't changed much in 300 years I totaly agree if you have a long haired dog does look silly!! If you want a short haired breed then get one

You know, ever since I have started going to Pet Stores in my area I only see certain Breeds. What Is that? I only see Yorkies's Maltese, Shin Tzu's. Some poddles but, I never see Westies, Corgi's. Not that I'm complaining. The thought just came to me.

I have been buying books on different breeds and I can tell you there are lots, and lots of them. Some of the dogs are so cute, and so cuddly, I want to take all of them home with me but, I can't. But, I have grown fond of Yorkies, Maltese, Shin Tzus, Westies, Bishon's. I love all of them but, I favor those breeds.
