Good luck
Is it too late to set up a poll in this thread?

Interesting article..... I have been reading this thread, but have not responded because I really have had little contact with pitbulls. I will say that the contact I have had, is positive. I have heard them refered to as nanny dogs and good family pets. The ones I have seen around children, have been very calm and well behaved.

A.F.A.I.K Yes as it has to be when a new thread/topic is started! other options could include in your experience are pit bull types generaly ok with kids or something along those lines. Tip: Keep you options short as to long a option won't go in the option fields boxes
So Start a new topic in relation to this thread you don't have to write a long first post to get the poll to work either but be sure to click Set up a poll near the bottom of page it's underneath Notification type in blue

I suspect it's fiction. Not that I don't think Pit Bulls are great with children, I just doubt there is any historical base for the claim. Lots of romanticized "facts" about various breeds are out there, usually not really lies so much as very gradually elaborated stories. Like the whisper game you play as a child, when you reach the end of the chain the first truth has changed into something else entirely.

I think that their high tolerance for pain makes them more tolerant of the children's antics than with other breeds...the pulling, poking and proding...the throwing of the toys...the driving of the trucks up and down them lol...you name it

My haley took it all in stride...she loved every minute of it...she was a riot

My Haley(RIP) on the bottom

Thanks for the responses. As I said in the first post. This thread isn't about pit bulls in general (or whether they're good with kids), It's only about whether or not viewers believe after reading the article that it's truth or fiction that the nanny dog claims truly do go as far back as suggested by pit advocates of today.

I'll try to set up a poll, but with vision problems that means I have to deal with something unfamilar as well as the dreaded Captcha!

Drat I know they are there for a reason prehaps it's because this is your first poll but at the end of the day you have been a registered member for a long time. Prehaps you could get some one in your house to help you set up a poll? Just a thought
