Exclamation Linkback Email Notifications.

Can some one look in to this for me as I am getting loads of Linkback Emails being sent out ( Not the same a forum topic email notifications!!!) Can't remember turning these Linkback Notifications on though! So is there a problem and they are being sent out even though I have not requested Linkback Notifications? TIA

Actually, this is exactly like forum topic email notification. We discovered a hidden queue of incoming linkback links waiting for moderation, and those are being processed. Some of our threads have many incoming links. As a result, each approved linkback to threads to which you are subscribed will generate a notification email. I do not subscribe to threads, and have received no email notifications. I have requested that the admins look into the possibility of inhibiting notification, but that may not be possible. In any event, once we work through the backlog, the number of notifications you might receive will be much smaller.

In the interim, you may want to manage your subscriptions, and unsubscribe from threads in which you do not have a particular interest.

One way to look at this, though, is that a lot of other sites look to Dogforum.net and its members for reliable information, and you all contribute to our reputation!

That would explain why i recieved loads of them!!! But it's the first time I have recieved any Link back Notiifications in all the time I have been a member of this forum. If Admin comes back and doesn't fix the problem, could Admin introduce some toggle On/Off maybe in the CP so members can choose wether they want Linkback Notifications On/Off while they might be similar to Email Notifications they aren't as in a Email Notification you do have a reply that some one has just posted!
Thanks for the info on this Tom
