Default It's a Technical issue for me! (Pics)

Hi All This is fairly new to me I have already uploaded pics from my Intempo Evolve on to dog forum successfully but iam still having problems putting pics in to a post gspdad (Don) did help me yesterday so thank you Don So Any way did have a go today and used the 3rd option just under a pic ( there is always 3 options) Did I select the right option number 3 so the image would show in my post? The image does show in a new window once the URL is clicked on but I want it show in my post(s) with out it being clicked on and is there automatic transfere option instead of typing in one of the 3 urls just below a pic? Thank you

If you are able to copy and paste with your setup, then you can highlight the URL you want to use, copy it to your clipboard (usually [Ctrl-C] via keyboard), and paste the URL into your post (usually [Ctrl-V] via keyboard], instead of having to type it.

There are three links provided under a gallery pic:
1 - linked thumbnail - makes a thumbnail image in your post. If you click on the thumbnail image, the expanded image in a new window. Least banddwidth in the thread and quickest to load for members with slower connections.

2 - linked medium - makes an image larger than a thumbnail in your post. If you click on the image, the expanded image opens in a new window. Somewhat more bandwidth in the thread and somewhat slower to load for members with slower connections.

3 - medium image - puts the image in your post at a medium size (seems to be what you want). Most bandwidth in the thread and slowest to load for those members with slower connections.

If you load a pic from your photobucket or other on-line image storage service, the size of the image, as it appears in the thread, will depend on the resolution and sizing of the pic you uploaded to your photobucket, etc. I use the free utility, IrfanView, to resize images intended for posting to 500 pixel max width, as a courtesy to members with smaller/lower-resolution screens and/or slower connections.

Tom I will have try that Is that Ctrl then C or as you typed it Ctrl-C ?
I do have Copy and Paste in the menu!

Now can you explain where I have gone wrong in the thread: Isn't she beautiful! Yes the pic is there but you have to click on the URL to view
it! So in the URL what have I missed out of the URL?

Also can't I use 'Manage Attachments' and if so what do I do? I know there is a either a upload mode directly from what I thought was the Df gallery but it isn't so would this be either from my devices internal flash memory or from a external storage site like Photobucket?

And finaly isn't the Df Gallery like a storage area you can upload from?
Thanks for the Info Tom

Ok Tried the Ctrl+C in the highlighted URL and I got 3 symbols on screen from my device not sure what they mean and a X which is obviously close window so I tried the first symbol and the highlighted text in the field vanished so it may have been copied to my clip board if I have one or it's ended up else where in my device. What I dont't get under Manage Attachments why can't I can't I use this feature especaily as I can use upload photo's option to upload pic(s) from my device's internal
memory to Df Gallery so in theroy I should be able to upload from my device using the Manage Attachments (in Df) section?? Thanks In advance

So, use the menu. Clearly, the keystroke conventions I suggested don't work for you.

Yes. You made it a URL, and not an image [IMG]. If you wrap the URL in IMG commands, like the strings provided under the pic in the gallery, you get the picture instead of just the URL. Experiment. Play with it, like everyone else.

Yes, you can attach a pic directly to the post from your computer or from a URL. Follow the directions in the Attachment dialogue box. From the gallery, you cut and paste one of the links provided under the pic into your post. Yes, it would be a pic from your device or a URL from a site like Photobucket.

Why, yes. Yes, it is.

Thank you Tom One more question! Under Manage Attachments there are 2 options 1. Upload from Pc or in my case my device! 2. Upload from a URL. So obviously I select option 1. Then I get a Df Prompt saying please select a file? Now when I uploaded fro my device to df galley it allows me to select a file and put it in my gallery so far so good but when I select option 1 upload a file from my device under Manage Attachments it doesn't either go my device or my gallery to select a file? The fact is I can upload files off my device in to my gallery but can't automaticaly upload fro the galley to a post this should be possible should it? The other point is under photo options when clicked on brings up icons can you tell me what each one is for please? And can you delete duplicate pics in my gallery and how do I do this? Thanks again Tom

When I used my PC for this image test, I uploaded the image first and copied the url plus img and the 2 URLs within this text. I clicked the Insert Image of the 2 mountains graphic above the Message Text box. I then had to manually delete all the extra text just to get to the basic URL. The forum then added the IMG and /IMG commands as required.

The original copied text could be pasted into the Message Text box and edited manually instead. This forum uses lowercase commands.

I required the URL with the filename eg jpg or gif etc to be within the img and /img command tags.

That's how I'd try to add an image here, using option 3 for a medium image, adding a note it was one of my uploaded images.

Hi Doggone-tired Yes I can do it this way but it's long winded when you have a few pics to post so I am looking for a resolution to the uploading problem that only happens when trying to post image in post after trying to select 'Choose File' either via the paper clip icon in a Go Advanced post/reply or when Manage Attachements is clicked on also in a Go Advanced post/reply. Now the Intempo Evolve does have a Copy&Paste function but not sure where it is in the menu and where you would copy and paste to? Thanks for your reply

Does any one use a 'Android' device moblie phone/tablet to upolad directly from their device to a post/reply as when I try and choose a file either via paper clip icon/Manage Attachments it can't find a file to select from even though there a a Sd card full of pics. I really need some help on this guys please. I don't want to end up manualy typing in the long URL's just to post pics as it's quite time consuming and errors can happen! Again thanks in advance Note: this is very important to me guys!!!!!

I only have dumb phones but can't you take your card out of the 'android device' and load the pics on your computer and then post them from your computer to wherever?
An extra step or two but at least you'd have them.
Also, you'd have your pics in two places instead of only one and if something happens to one, you'd still have those invaluable pics.
