Exclamation Ping times On Email Notifications

Just wondering what the ping times should be when clicking on a email notiication URL and how long it should take to connect you to the topic you are subscribed to? Is 60 secs to long? Well I think so can any adjustments be made so connection times are a little quicker? If I was on a dial up connection (56k) then I would expect a long delay connecting to Dogforum but Iam on a DSL Broadband 10Mb service so it ought be a little quicker connecting! Thank you.

Tough noogies. It's not like we have a dial to control network latency around the world. While your DSL connection is nominally rated at 10Mb, it's average performance will be less than that, and sometimes significantly so. Short answer - network latency is beyond our control.

Do you have a feature in your email client that allows you to get mail? If you do then if it is on the server you can get it. Sometimes you are allowed to set how often your program checks for mail. Checking frequently will slow down the rest of the performance. Otherwise it is what Vagreys' said.
