Red face Sssssssslllloooooowwwwww....

Out of every website and forum I visit, this one has become by far the slowest loading one. Sometimes it takes a full 5 minutes to load a page here. Is there any way to make the forum more.... streamlined? Just curious. It's been this way for a while now.

That's odd. I haven't seen anything like that kind of performance problem. I'm on Verizon DSL, at the moment, and I get fast page loads all the time. What kind of internet service are you using, how fast is it? What browser are you using, and what version?

What kind of connection do you use? Back in my dial up days, everything took forever and sites that had a lot of action, such as this one, took even longer, it was the fact that they had a lot of action that made them take so long.

I have seen some hiccups where it takes some time , but only every once and a while . I'm on fiber optics so it's not the connection speed or my pc . only once and a while is it trouble .

Sure there has been some problems in the past but this hasn't happend for a long time now and my connection is Broadband 1Mb connected to a Set Top Box that allows surfing of the Internet and email etc. So I would be the first to say something if some thing was wrong. I too like Barbiespoodle used to have a dial up connection, but you say other sites and forum load quickly? This is strange. Has it always been like this for you or has this recently started to happen? It could be your ISP where the problem lies, so you need to eliminate this first and contact them. Then progress to your Pc. Could there be a virus slowing it down. Check your Cache and clear it if necessary. Let us know how you get on and if you have managed to fix the problem.

Dial up can be very slow. It depends on the day. Pictures always take a long time to load. Even when I am lucky enough to get on at 52 bps. I am on internet explorer v. 8. I think.

Could also be a hick-up along the server lines. If a hub is having issues and the signal rerouted across the country it can really play merry hob with load time. Every now again I get that, with certain sites. That would be my guess.

I'm on Qwest DSL. No idea the speed, as it's not my internet. I'm on a Macbook using the Safari browser. Now I will say that since I created this thread, the owners of the internet upgraded the speed... and it seems to have helped the forum load faster. Maybe that's all it was, although all my other forums loaded a lot faster. I'm no longer waiting nearly 5 minutes for a page to load here, so it seems the problem has solved itself! =3
