Default Any one on Dial Up internet 56k?

Hi The reason why I ask this because there seems to be no size limits on Pic attachements for this forum (which must have a endless server limit) which can slow down when you are scrolling down a page full of images Iam not against pics in any way as they provide endless conversations ad lots of awws etc,etc I am on 1Mb Broadband but I still find this scrolling down a page with images on does slow the page down. Why is there no size limit with image attachments?

That's not much of a download size Bigboy - some images are more than that for just one image. I think there is a restriction on image size if the image is in the message itself - but if you insert an image (e.g. from photobucket or similar) then the image can be much bigger - so I don't know what the fix for you would be.

Of course I might be talking absolute tosh and got it all wrong, but that's what I understand.

Bigboy - good question. I think this is the reason for the limit to the number of attachments / images allowed in a single post. If there were no limit then conceivably a post with a lot of pictures would take forever to load.
I personally would like to see a size limit on pics because I don't have a huge monitor and because of my eyesight I prefer a coarse resolution. That would also help with the dowloading problem you're having.

What Iam saying jake is say someone post 6 images in a post and each image is 500k or .5 of a Mb that's 6x500kb = 3Mb in my maths and theres no way you can even begin to scroll down the page till all 6 images have loaded, another point is am viewing this forum on a 28" wide screen Tv and a lot of images on here I have to scroll left to right/up and down to get it centered correctly. Prehaps some members could try as a test posting say 50kb or 100kb images. Modern computers can zoom to a bigger image. I too even on Tv internet can zoom in a smaller image at least 6 times to make it bigger. Making the file size smaller would infact make for quicker loading of the images and scrolling down a page would be qucker too

I take it you mean dial up internet? It's what everybody used to have before Broadband (high speed internet access) came along quite a few people are still on dial up access in the UK, don't know why though as Broadband is getting cheaper now to have set up, and has much more benifits than dial up can ever give

What the cost benefit of having your system Bigboy? Most broadband providers will give you a modem for free now.
