Default Books

Maybe there could be a thread for books suggestion and review? They have to be dog related of course. Maybe someone could post one book a month and others can give their reviews or whatever? The books can be about anything, such as training, fun stories, sad stories, etc. Even photography books.

What do you think?

Sounds like fun. I tried it once this past summer but I guess there were not enough members who had read all the same books. Any suggestions as to the books?

NOT SURE OF THE NAME THINK THAT IS IT OR AT LEAST THE WRITERS, THE TRAINING METHODS THEY USE, HOW TO FEED ETC. THEIR OPINIONS OF COURSE. SOME MIGHT LOVE IT.

We need some books that are new to everyone. I think it would make it more enjoyable. I think stories about dogs would be the better way to go. That away there won't be much debate. What do you think?

Has anyone read Tails from the Bark Side by Brian Kilcommons? It seems like a fun and light book. You can look it up on Amazon.com.

OK we have a couple of suggestions:

Sheplovr suggested a training book by the Monks of new Skete
One of these? http://search.half.ebay.com/new-skete_W0QQ (some of their books are on eBay for real cheap)

Amber suggested Tails from the Bark Side by Brian Kilcommons
http://product.half.ebay.com/Tails-f...foQQprZ1631614

I would be up for a dog book of the month club. If we can agree on a book to start with I'll order one up for myself and maybe in a week or so we can have a thread going.

OK I have now bought the Kilcommons book (online) and am trying to get the Monks of new Skete book. The Kilcommons book should be here in a few days.

I've read the both the "The Art of Raising a Puppy" and "How to Be Your Dog's Best Friend: The Classic Training Manual for Dog Owners" by the Monks of New Skete.

These are both excellent choices.

I just ordered the book "Marley & Me, Live & Love with the World's Worst Dog" by John Grogan. I've heard lots of great things about this book & just couldn't wait any longer. I'll be chomping at the bit waiting impatiently for the regular mail shipping. LOL
