Well we already have a General Dog Discussion forum and another Dog Discussion forum so in therory those posts could go in either, but it does sound a good idea to maybe have a dedicated section just for that

Yes I should have realised that! But saying that
maybe include in the forum title and Adoptions cause dog rescues
could be anything to do with dog rescues just a thought

A thread for dogs available for adoption might not be such a great idea since the membership of this forum is so widespread and the forum itself is not officially affiliated with any dog rescues. My vote would be to leave the rescuing to the rescuers who are much more experienced.

Yes we do have quite a few members who have experience in dog adoptions

However the overwhelming majority of their work is done with LOCAL and hands on rescues. The odds against matching up a potential owner and a dog in need of a home from a far reaching forum like this would be astronomical.

If I wanted to adopt a dog I'd contact local rescues so I could actually see the dog and interact with it. The same would apply if I had to give up a dog. I'd want to meet the potential owner, see their home and learn a lot more about them before even considering it. That can't be done long distance over the internet. Of course that's just my own thoughts on the subject. )

I have a tendency to agree with you. When we were looking for a rescue dog to adopt, we did use the internet, but only looked at dogs in rescue shelters, close enough that we could travel to and see/ interact with the dog before adoption.....thus our Dunbar and previously our Rosie. It was a 5 hour drive for Rosie and 2 hours for Dunbar.
