Default 'Help!' videos - something of interest?

Hi all

We realize that sometimes this forum software can have all sorts of little quirks in how it works that might not be the easiest things to figure out, and sometimes even seemingly simple tasks like adding an image to a post can become difficult if you're new to the software or are used to different discussion board formats.

When you were a new member here (or now! ), would you have found it helpful if we had a collection of video tutorials available to cover the basics and some of the more advanced site features and abilities? What would these be?

We're thinking of taking the time to put a collection of guides together if there is enough interest, so your input is welcome and appreciated!

Thanks!

While some like to watch videos and learn from them, me, I prefer written instructions..step by step, easy enough for a kid to understand written ones! I print them out and then they're there for me on my desk for the next time I need them. (yes, I have the one on posting pics here..)

I wouldn't like videos. Mainly because I am still on Dial up and won't be able to watch them. Don't let that stop you though!

Yes I think Videos are a good idea while I am broadband I would like to see the file codec MPEG 1/2 used with a MP3 Audio file or at least have a selectable file optition for MPEG 1/2. Flash. etc,etc from a drop down list or selectable check boxes. Thanks ATB

You still on Dial up. Gosh I remember that about 3 years ago and it can prove to be expensive!! Can you not get broadband where you are? Iam only on 1Mb but it's a great improvement from Dial up and it's associated problems. ATB

I tjink the carrier here is AT&T. My better half won't deal with them anymore after a bad experience we had a couple of years ago. We can't trust that company! We even use phone cards for long distance so we don't have to deal with them. They seem to still have the 'baby bell' attitude about their customers.
End of rant.

That's understandable! There's no point going to company you can't trust in ATB

I think tutorials and/or videos would be an excellent idea Chipp.
As this is a dog forum I would say a good number of members when they first sign up will not know too much about technology and would like to be pointed in the right directions so to speak to get them on their feet.
