The site layout is set for a fixed 1024x768, which apparently is the most commonly used resolution. If you have your screen resolution set below that, you'll need to scroll from side to side to view everything.

Thank you Taeric.

How can I alter it as it is quite annoying having to keep scrolling from side-to-side please?

At this time, the page width is set. Personally, I use 1600x1200 or 1680x1050, so I like the variable width page as well. There are only so many hours in the day, and a lot of things for our administrators to do. While a variable width option is planned, it'll likely be a while before it is implemented.

Thanks for the advice about changing settings, but as I am a pc nerd, don't want to mess about. I don't have this problem on other sites, so don't want to mess them up for myself. Thanks anyway.
