![]() I doubt Remember Me has any effect. It certainly didn't for me. The admins started with very conservative criteria, and gradually loosened it up, some, as it became clear what the impact of some settings were. Mostly, now we deal with detecting the human spammers who can navigate Captcha.

![]() 'Remember Me' doesn't affect it at all. Since I'm the only computer user in the house (Kenzie has no computer priveleges...
![]() The capcha's still keep showing up if I use either the 'quotation' feature. I haven't figured out whether it's a certain number of smilies or specific ones that also trigger it. I can always read one of the two words because it's a real word, the other is just a collection of random letters of the alphabet and that one gets tough, sometimes I get lucky the first time and guess right, others....sigh!! |

![]() Ok so we know that the remember me mode doesn't stop the Captcha's Km do you have a floating IP address or static one? I'am pretty sure this does make a difference!

I have a dynamic IP address and there's no way I'm switching to a static one!! I work in the telecommunications industry (and sell internet products) and the difference is price is way more than I'm willing to pay. It actually SHOULDN'T make a difference but then I'm not privy to how this particular BB is set up. The email address one uses for contact information MIGHT make a difference, I should try changing mine to see. |

![]() Bigboy, a static IP will make a difference, but a static IP address can become a security risk, because the address is always the same. Static IP's make it easier for data mining companies to track.
