Congrats on your nerw pup.

Try leaving a radio on playoing softly. You puppy is missing it's siblings and showing you that by whining and crying. You can also leave a ticking clock in the room with your pup.

I think everyone who doesn't let their pup sleep with them has gone through this. When we got our pup in May, we just made sure he had warm bedding, a soft toy, the radio playing and that was it. Lastly we got earplugs, warned the neighbours and just let him cry. He did it for 20 minutes the first night, 15 minutes the second and third and then it just became routine. Whatever you do, don't cave...good luck!

Hi there, it's definitely a good idea to shut the curtains. Do you have her in a dog cage at night? If so, throw a cosy blanket over it. That seems to calm my pup down. My pup is 10 weeks old as has started sleeping right though the night (4am wake ups aren't fun!) but like yours, she seems to stir when it gets light.
Have fun
Donna

Have the puppy next to your bed at night

i know, i know, but i didnt have the heart to leave my puppy screaming all night long, nothing consoled her, only company. i no its not always practicle, but if it is i dont see why dogs shouldnt sleep in your bedroom, they only want to be near you!

Once again my daughtger jumped on...
The puppy is right next to her bed and shes only 2 feet off the floor (waiting for new bed frame) and it does cry alot. I will let it sleep in the bed after its housebroken.
Thank you

well good news the barking is getting better she now only does it about 5 in the morning and its only for 15 minutes which is great i would love to have my dog in my room but with a baby due in march i dont think it will be wise to have her upstairs whilst baby is in our room and if i let her up now it will be hard to put her down stairs when baby is here not fair on her but she is doing so well now im very proud iv only had her a week
