![]() When Sophie really gets into chewing on a toy on rawhide, she'll grip the toy all the way down to the carpet and sometimes catches her teeth on the carpet itself. Then when she goes to rip the toy up, she rips the carpet up too! I don't know how to keep her from doing this. I don't want to yell at her, as she's not doing it on purpose and she might think I'm yelling at her for chewing her toys. But I need to do something, as she's wrecking the carpet!

![]() How about putting a mat or a blanket underneath her while she chews?

![]() Eeeekgads! This is a tough one. I hope somebody pops in with a great idea. The best idea I can think of is to put mats down on the carpet & teach Sophie to chew on the mats. I'd work on down/stay & give her chewy toy treats on the mat.

![]() That's a pretty good idea... now hopefully I can make it work! She catches on to commands quickly (she understood 'sit' within 5 minutes of me starting to teach it), but is still under the impression that they are optional to follow. Sigh.

![]() LOL, time, patience & consistency with her training will fix that "optional" issue. Hehehehe, a pup's gotta do what a pup's gotta do until she learns the difference.
