Arrow Advice on chewing puppies.

Although babies are gorgeous, they can be incredibly destructive, as we all know.

As puppies do not have hands, they use their mouth to learn about objects.
If they find something particularly nice or satisfying to chew, getting them to leave it alone can be impossible.

Here's a few tips.
1. If you puppy is playing with toys that aren't his (usually slippers etc), take the forbidden object off him and replace it with one of his toys.

2. To make a toy more enticing, rub it in your armpit so put your scent on it. they love this for some reason.

3. Provide toys that are satisfying to chew, rubber rings, squeaky toys etc. If your baby is teething, put the rubber ring in the freezer for a few minutes, they will chew on it forever then.

4. Do not scold a puppy for chewing something he shouldnt. If he's got it, it wasn't put away well enough. Take the object off him and give him something of his own.

Thats all i have for now, but i will add to this post regularly with more tips, so keep an eye out for them.

regards

Thats really helpful thanks. Although I dont know about rubbing anything under my armpit!

Max isnt teething yet but when he does I will remember to get a rubber ring and put it in the freezer for him.
