Default The Days & Nights of Amber

It was suggested that Amber needs a new thread and I agree, so thought I'd make one. It's going to be like a little journal of her life.

To start this of, I am happy to say I actually got to sleep in my own bed last night, for the first time in two weeks!
Amber slept in her crate on her own in the living room, we made sure she was safe and the room was safe too in case she got out and decided to chew things. We didn't put her crate in our room, as the last time we did that she went stir crazy. So we have now realized she wants to sleep where her crate always is, which is down stairs. We left the door open a little bit for her so she could come up the stairs if she wanted to. Plus, I set my alarm so I could go and check up on her and take her out for a wee. We woke up before the alarm, at 1am and took her out. When I went back to bed, she was as good as gold and never made a sound.

Will take some more pic's of her today.

Wow! You've jumped another hurdle in puppy training 101! Excellent news! Your little girl is growing up! Woohoooo! I know you'll feel lots better after getting more sleep. I know I did!

I can't wait to see more pics of her! Very glad she has her very own thread now!

We're starting to feel more relaxed now too. Hubby & I were able to leave her with our sons to look after her, while we went out for an hour. It was great to have a break.

Ambers asked twice to go out for a toilet now, and we take her out to do her business every hour. So there's hardly any #1's or 2's indoors now.

Maggie, that is awesome! Amber is doing so well and your doing very well as a first time puppy owner We all know it can be difficult at times to raise and deal with a puppy...but now you can see just how easy it is to overcome some of those little issues with a little time/patience, and the right kind of advice
So happy to hear she is working out so well for you and your family...she's going to turn out to be a great little, or should I say BIG , family dog

We look forward to hearing more of the adventures of Amber

Looks like you're starting to jump all sorts of hurdles now. I swear having a puppy has to be as difficult (and brings as much worry) as having a human baby. I actually think it is harder but qualify my words because some human will come along to argue the point that there's no comparison. Since I've never had kids, I don't have the ammunition to argue the point.

Thanks Angela, I look forward to sharing her adventures.
It's been hard work, and I have to admit I didn't realize it would be so hard, but now its starting to get easier.

I have to say, it is like having a baby, in some ways it's harder and in others it's easier. But you do get the same worries. When Amber was ill I did nothing but cry, cause I felt so helpless and both hubby & I were so worried about her.

I am so happy for you that you and Amber are making such good progress! Someday you will miss those "puppy days" even if they were trying!

What a great idea - Amber with her own thread. Glad she's settling in but then she 'owned you' LOL from the moment you got her.

Looking forward to the next instalment.
