Default Dog gone shame

We finally found the perfect pet, however, we have to move and cannot take her with us. Though we got her from the Humane Society we would love to find a loving family for her. She is almost 6 months old. She loves to play and is use to indoors. She is completely housebroken. She sleeps in her "Pet Porter" which has a pillow for which we will give a new owner along with feeding and water dishes, etc. Her shots are all up to date. She is very clean and short hair (very little shedding). Our inquiries reveal she is a "Labrador Husky", not a mix. She will be about 40 pounds when full grown and if kept in an indoor environment her hair will not grow long. There is no charge for the Coco or her equipment. Please send a PM

Hi CocosDaddy,
I'm sorry to hear about your predicament. This forum has people from all over the US, as well as Canada, the UK, Australia, Bulgaria, tons of places! If you want to find a good home for your dog, I would suggest www.craigslist.org in your local area. Also, www.petfinder.com has boards where you can post your animal for adoption. It is always advisable to ask for a nominal adoption fee in order to ensure that your pet is not going to a shifty individual. You could also ask local vets if you could post a flyer in their office. Good luck!

Good luck in finding Coco a forever home. I'd use the sites LoveThatPom suggested to see if you can find one quickly.

I thought most shelters wanted the pet you adopted back if you could no longer care for them?

Please check references, vet references, visit the home, and interview like h*ll the people that want to take her. There are too many sickos who will take a free dog in an instant to torture, and also laboratories that take free dogs to test on. It's sad the things that can happen to a "free to good home" pet.

I agree with areias. Perhaps you could charge? Doesn't have to be a lot, but just enough so that someone seeing the add wont think it's a 'free to torture' pet. Unfortunatly, there are a lot of sickos. I'm sorry you're in this situation, but glad you're going to the effort to find a nice, loving home.

Adopting just one Greyhound may not change the world... But I'm certain the world will change for that one Greyhound.
