Default Standing alert

When harley is alert and looking at something or hears something,he lifts up one of his front paws into the bent position, will then put it down when the alert is over.
Never seen this before in any dogs
Can anyone shed anylight

Pointers do that when " pointing " at something.

What kind of dog is he again ?

My Brittany from years ago would "point" birds in the yard almost on a daily basis. We tried to tell him he wasn't a pointer (to no avail). I've seen my golden do, it but only once.

Maybe it's just his way of saying " Hey! There is something here that needs to be watched ".

A lot of dogs do that, regardless of their breed...its so cute when they do, with the alert eyes and ears and firm body position

This is his way of getting to flee- or run forward or greet. Paw raising on arousal is like his way of " getting ready.." to do .. something.. Feet ready mom- lets whatever.. If the tail lowers it means concern- tail up- ready to take off, slow wag- I want to greet..

This means he is a little nervous and unsure, but not frightened, and can be seen in many dogs, irrespective of breed.
