Default Help, puppy is eating poo

We have a five month old westie and she is just fab apart from one thing - she is eating her poo!! She is nearly house trained apart from the odd accident but if you are not there to pick up the mess straight away she gulps it down in about 2 seconds flat. This is not every time but about 70% of the time. I don't really know what to do..
Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks for that! I have just read all threads on that link and it was very helpful. It's good to know she is not abnormal even though its gross.

Try a 1/8 teaspoon of sea kelp. This makes her poop unpalatable and she will stop eating it. Sea kelp is also very good for her nutritionally, so it's a win win.

Can I ask where you found out about the sea Kelp? How would you mix it in?

From another RAW feeder. I used it when Rudy was eating his poop and also for when both dogs started eating the cat poop ( Kitty Krunchies ) out of the litter box. I gave the cats a pinch on their food and they stopped.

I feed Sea Kelp on a regular basis now as part of their raw diet.

It works. Just sprinkle it on top of their food.
