Default Another teething question

when does teething end?
Buddy is a 10 month old labrador retriever and recently (like the last couple of weeks) he has been heavily teething again. I mean, I think its teething. he is chew chew chewing on everything. its nuts. he was like this as a little puppy when he started getting his teeth but he pretty much stuck to his toys and antler (ok, he did chew up one leg of a table and part of the molding around our kitchen doorway, but nothing else!) and it had calmed down significantly.
now, he's chewing on my throw pillows, books, shoes, pretty much anything in sight. I'm back to keeping an eye on him at all times or he's in the pen because I cant keep up with this damage and I dont want it to become habitual. he does 'drop' when I tell him to, but usually its too late by the time I catch him.
Im hoping its not boredom because we are already entertaining/training/exercising as much as I possibly can (see my post in the digging thread )

I feel your pain! Timi (also 8 months) is trying to chew the entire world one item at a time :-) Teething should be over, but that doesn't mean that the chewing and investigating the world with the mouth is. Most of my other dogs pretty much ended the chewing it up phase by about a year old. Make sure that Buddy has a ton of things that are acceptable for him to chew on and you might want to rotate their availability to him ("new" things are always more fun to chew).

JGLI - good point, I havent rotated his stuff in a while. also have gotten out of the habit of keeping stuffed kongs in the freezer. he liked those.
he tore up his crate pad today. and he was only in there for an hr - and right after a 2mile walk which included some puppy pal time too. I'd have thought he'd be exhausted! the chewing is way worse than its ever been.
ok...gonna get some new chew toys and stuff/freeze his kongs tonight. thanks for the support!

Amigo, this might make you feel better.. I accidentally left some things on top of Timi's crate while I ran to the store... and came home to find all of them shredded to pieces and Timi sitting there with a happy, goofy grin!
