Default Housebreaking Bonnie

When I got Kris, she was 11 weeks old and really easy to housebreak as she could hold it longer. I started out right away with crate training and taking her out once during the night.

With Bonnie just being 8 weeks old, I have her in a pen at night as too cold and dark to take her outside several times during the night. I will start crate training her once she can go all night without an accident.

She was nine weeks old on Monday, the 5th and last night, although she peed during the night, it was the first time no poop overnight. She is really good about running outside with the others in the morning and going outside plus I take her out after her and Kris have been playing or after she has been sleeping. The few accidents she has had during the day when I was busy and not paying enough attention were all by the back door so she knows where she should go, just needs my attention more on her. Probably a good candidate for bell training but have never tried that before. She is a smart little dog so could probably learn it.

A bell sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe your other dogs will use it too

Will be interested in your bell training experience. Have never tried it, but have heard of people having great success with it.

Good girl Bonnie :-) She sounds like a very smart pup...I found that when I had an older dog with a pup, that the older dog was great at mentoring the puppy, so perhaps there should be a "Good girl Kris!" in here too :-)
