Default Help Me choose a dogo puppy from pics!

I am hoping for some expert advice on selecting a nice healthy dogo from a litter of 3. I have had large dog breeds before and set my heart on a dogo

I have first selection from the litter but the breeder has asked me to choose which puppy i want now, so he can sell the others.

I understand its impossible to judge the overall health of puppy this young just by photos but i was hoping some one with experience may be able to spot any potential issues or see if something does not look 100% right.

The breeder seems to be very responsible and the line is from Russian champions. (Father 56kg and Mother 44kg)

Most important to me is a healthy dogo, but i would like the option to possibly enter shows and maybe breed in the future.

Puppies 22days old and weigh 2.1kg-2.2kg

i would appreciate and feedback

Puppy 1

Puppy 2

Puppy 3

Are all of these puppies show quality?

I'm going to guess you have talked to the breeder beforehand and told them what you want the puppy for, if so they should be working with you to match the best puppy for what you want(Breeders usually sell pups that are show quality at a different price than those that are pet quality-the contracts are usually different too*different details*).

I'd suggest you talk to the breeder about which they think would be the best for possible showing(of course, there is the possibility that the pup will end up with a fault where you cannot show it)

Also, if you haven't already, make sure the breeder did genetic testing, temperament testing on their breeding dogs and is only breeding dogs that are breeding quality before purchasing.

The dogo isn't a breed I'm really familiar with, I'd suggest you find the breed club for where you live/the country you live in and contact someone with the club and ask about the puppies-or find a forum specifically dedicated to this breed and ask there. Someone who is more familiar with the breed(and showing/working with it) will probably be able to give you the best answer(which is why I also suggested asking the breeder-since they should be either showing their dogs or working with them*or both*)

Thanks for your reply.

The breeder seems very good - they have been very nice and asked me a lot of questions about my experience and home prior to accepting to sell to me.

This is the family tree of the Mother - Dogo argentino kennel "Iz Lunnoy Stai" | Dogo argentino DIDI IZ LUNNOY STAI the breeder has shown me some paperwork that matches - but i cannot be 100% sure if its genuine. The father is huge and looks great, apparently a champion import from Russia - a stud provided from a different source.

There were 6 puppies in the litter and i am lead to believe these 3 are the best.

I live in Thailand and its difficult to do proper research on specific breeders etc.

I think that all 3 puppies would be good - but was just hoping that somebody who may know what to look for for or spot a potential issue ( i had a GSD puppy before with bad leg structure - but i did not notice as a puppy).

I don't know anything about the breed either. I would have to meet and see the personality first. That's what important to me.

I know nothing of show quality or the breed either. I'd sit on the floor and pick the dog that either came to me or stayed with me the longest or showed in some way that it liked me.
Some unfortunate people don't have a dog to talk to.

Ditto......I'm not familiar with the breed and agree with the above posts. I would go with personality as well and see which one comes to me first. If you are looking for show breed quality I also agree you should do more research on that particular breed.
