Question Puppy selection? First Vs later litter?

Hi. We have a choice Vs two litters: one frombitch who has had her third (and final) litter and her daughter, who has had her first litter. Any recommendations about selecting from either litter? Of course, will be working with the breeder to select the best pup. THANKS!

Welcome Tollerdaddy to Dogforum.org.

Personally I do not think it matters but maybe one of our breeder members can give you more advice on this.

Hi, we got our first dog a year ago and then in August another litter was born so we got another one. The lady we got them from said that in her opinion the second and third litters were better than the first. Haven't a clue why?? I agree that you should just go with the one you like the look of unless someone who breeds can offer any advice as to why one is better than the other.

hi it can depend on whether the breeding of the stud dog and the bitch have clicked better.

Ok say the same stud dog was mated to two different bitches of different breeding lines. One of the bitches may end up having better pups than the other because the stud dogs line suit her better than the other.
