Default American Eskimo

Hello. Does Anyone know a reputable breeder in the queens, ny area for an American Eskimo? about a 80mile radius? or a good adoption place? I saw an american eskimo pup at a puppy store, but I really dont want to buy a puppy from those places since I heard they are most likely from puppy mills

nyeskie, welcome to the forum! Yo are correct. All puppies at pet stores are from puppy mills. Best to stay away. Have you tried to Google American Eskimo rescue NY? I'm sure you should find some hits. I'll check as well.

Here is a link to the American Eskimo parent club. On this site you'll find breed information, links to local and regional clubs in your area as well as rescues and breeders. AEDCA Home

A note of caution though. Just because a breeder is a member of the parent club doesn't automatically make them a responsible breeder. Always do your homework and check references when purchasing a purebred puppy from any breeder.

There's lots of American Eskimos in Alaska but they don't have puppies.

The American Eskimo breed rescue group Nationally is called "Heart Bandits." If you Google "Heart Bandits" and American Eskimo, you may be able to find some rescue Eskies needing good homes. Heart Bandits are known for having a really good International travel network and may be able to get an Eskie to you through their volunteer travelers from another state for free.

I owned an Eskie and just lost her last May. I miss her terribly still. She was a shelter rescue. They are great dogs.
