Default Hiccupping

Hi

Samson hiccups 2 or 3 times a day, at least that we notice. It's not always after a meal. I know there's nothing to worry about but just wondered...
His brother doesn't hiccup.
He used to eat fast (which we thought was the reason) but not anymore, he has slowed down.
I usually pick him up to distract him from it and it stops quickly.

Hi, i can't help but i thought i would let you know my puppy is hiccuping a lot too!! Every day a few times at least. Our other dog never hiccups, he is 18months and i think ive seen him with hiccups maybe twice. It is funny isnt it and i would like to know what causes it? Maybe someone can enlighten us?

I don't have any advice... but I noticed Hemi hiccuping for the first time about a month ago and it totally cracked me up!

My vet mentioned that it was because their diaphragm is not yet fully developed. I think I was paying more attention to the dog so I don't remember anymore than that

Lori hiccups too, as you say it is not always after she has eaten, but it only lasts about a minute.
