I think every two hours is a good amount of time for taking her to go potty. It is also a good idea to take her after naps, and shortly after she eats.

For chewing on your hand, saying no and giving her a toy is a wonderful method. Sometimes it also helps to make an "Oww!" sound, to let them know that it hurts, just like their siblings would do!

You still need to find out how old Princess is for lots of reasons. One of the reasons is if Princess is older than month and everybody agrees that she is. and is even say 4 months old then provided the vacs etc are all upto date then you can start the potty training and socialisation trianing both very important 1. While it's normal behaviour in any puppy to nip it's not acceptable and the links that Skunkstripe has provided will prove useful. The way to go on the nipping is a firm ( but no need to shout it out!) 'No' follow it through with putting the pup on the floor and walk away from the pup don't talk to the pup or look at her either, Sounds harsh? But it's not. puppies/dogs learn by association it's that simple so eventually Princess will realise that every time she nips she won't get any attention ( which pups and dogs love) and associate that nipping you will only result in being ignored and she will start to to nip less and less. But it won't stop over night either you will have to work hard but over period of time it does get easier and will stop completely

The other thing is i would start to introduce NILIF training ( Nothing In Life Is Free) it's a positive way to train any dog and can really help. Eg: Nipper loves to be really close to me but she has to earn it so it's no use her just jumping on my lap for a cuddle she has to be 'invited' up it's on the owners terms and not the dogs same with her food I make Nipper wait then give a 'cue' command to eat and the same applies for meeting other dogs and people. To sum it up you have to make boundaries and stick to them and not give in just because Princess is cute ( which she is ) look beyond the cuteness and you have a animal that knows how to try and will try to get round you I am glad you are asking so many questions. Sorry to keep asking you to contact the breeder about her age. but it is important to find out! Good luck and keep us informed on Princess's progress please! ATB

im having a hard time for potty training her. I had her in the bathroom as the pet shop told me to have her potty place, bed and food but what she did was learn to pee on her bed and poop!!!!!! So what i did is i took everything out of the bathroom. I have her bed in the hallway but i think i will take it again couse she goes to pee and try to poop and i will put it in th bed room. the potty place i have it near the bathroom at the hallway her water and food. I take her afe 20 mins or when i see her moving from her seat etc.. she knows where to go pee sometimes she makes mistakes but the poop she dont know where to go et so she goes on her bed ect. If i get her in the act i grab her and put her on the pee pee pads. She free in the kithchen, small hallway and in my bedroom. Is that to much? she dont even sleep in her bed she sleeps with me all night!!! so she dont even pee on the bed! so maybe she thinks its like a crate. she wont go down couse she afraid.

Hi You are welcome Sorry I don't under stand the statement " I was planning on feeding her 4-3 times a day and not free??" What I ma saying is to avoid feeding problems in the future is you put the food down and make her wait patiently then give a command to eat! You also mention that the breeder speaks spanish or french, never a good idea to get a dog from this source unless you speak and understand the laungauge! Again on the peeing/pooping side I think Princess is confused the bed/bedding will need to be washed throughly on a hot wash. Other wise she will keep going back the bed and use it again You need to set boundaries for this. So every time she needs to go, take her in the yard and say something like do pee or do poops ( iam reluctant to say take her in the yard as we don't know how old she is or if she is upto date with her vaccs etc) You also should have had some paper work such as a vaccination record which most good breeders will supply you with!
The confusion lies here: 1. She is going in the house because there's no where else to go till you know how old she is. I have a question for other members can a pups age be told from it's teeth? If you can't find out from the breeder maybe the vet can run some tests to give you some idea of her age?. Sorry but as lovely as she is I would not have bought her from some breeder who didn't understand english. it just complicates matters. Gosh my fiungers are working over time here LOL, But we are here to help ATB Hun xxx

If she was kept in a small confined cage in the pet shop, she has learned to pee, play, poop and eat in an area the size of a few square feet.

Are you with her all the time? Can you watch her and recognize when she needs to pee or poop? Has the vet said it's ok to take her outside or not yet?
