Default Found a tooth......

so i find the puppy playing/chewing on one of her back teeth today, how long does it take for the rest to come out? should i be making her food soggy and giving her soft treats instead of hard ones?

Congratulations Jeepguy. The little devils usually get to swallow them before you get to find them!

As for time, I'm still waiting for my six month old to get the final two teeth through and it seems as is it has gone on forever! I can feel them just there, but not quite there yet.

I once had a dog who never got a full set of teeth - she missed out on a couple of pre-molars.

As for food, I am giving my little one the same food, but added some chewy stuff - like half a carrot. I also froze stuff in a kong (yogurt with liver treats) helps them get that darn chewing out of the way a bit.

I may be strange for this but when I am able to find puppy teeth, I save them for their scapbooks. My dogs each have their own - am I strange?

Adult teeth are usually in between 6 - 8 months depending on the breed.

Arctic Wonder - how lovely that you keep scrapbooks of your dogs, something I'd never even thought of

Jeepguy - if she seems to be chewing a lot with teething, you could soak a rope tuggy toy in beef stock, freeze it and give it to her to chew. They love it and it helps ease the pain

I only have one puppy tooth, that's all I ever found. It is in my jewelry box (lol) & it is older than my kids.
