Default How much should my puppy eat

My puppy is 9 weeks old tomorrow and currently is on Beta food. She has 80grams a day but I'm worried she looks thin, and she also always seems to want more food. How much should she been fed a day?

I would definitely consult your vet on this one ASAP. The size of your dog will depend on the specific amount. Also, the amount of exercise that you give will be a factor.

I am sorry that I can't give you specifics, but a pup's nutritional diet is very important. It will effect growth, bones, joints, etc... I'd rather you get advice directly from your Vet.

Good luck!

Sorry....one side note. Puppies ALWAYS seem hungry, even if you're giving them the correct amount.

I would check the size/age and breed of dog she is and look on the dog food pack as to the guide lines on how much and how many times a day to feed her for. And agree with Dogslife puppies in particular will eat and eat till the cows come home so don't over feed her how ever hungry she looks.

Hi. At 9 weeks, your pup needs more that twice as many calories as an adult of her size, and she needs to be fed four or five times a day. How much food she needs depends on how much she weighs and her breed. A large or giant breed dog has different nutritional needs than a medium-sized, small or toy breed.

The nutritional needs of a puppy follow their growth curve, so they change from week to week as her weight and size change. There are charts and curves to help determine her nutritional demand and how much food to feed.

If you can tell me her weight and breed, I can help you come up with a feed program for the food you are using. It will be far more accurate than the general chart on the packaging.
