Default Pacing

Sometimes My puppy paces like he wants to do something but is bored. He goes in and outside all day. We take him for 2 walks and play with him, and give him lots of hugs and kisses.

Sometimes I get frustrated when I see him pacing like he wants to go outside again. I don't want to be catering to this dog all the time. Sometimes I don't want him outside especially if he is barking at the neighbours dog.

Is it okay for the pup to be bored once in a while? Crazy question I know.......here i go again........worrying!!!

You've possibly thought of it already but have you tried giving it something as a distraction when it starts pacing like a kong filled with treats or a dog chew like them rawhide bones or something just to occupy it for a short time.

Yep, gave him his kong with peanut butter earlier and some treats for new tricks.

Jake sometimes does that nightime when we are watching TV or relaxing. I let him out and he waits for me to go with him - wants to play. So, he gets left out for 5 minutes with the door shut.

when he comes back in he gets a toy and brings it to me and puts it on my knee or drops it at my feet. I just ignore him as its my time - lol

but if you do try destraction that should work - especially with a puppy.
