Default Shots and neuter

Just wondering opinions here. My new puppy, Kota, is from the shelter. They say he's 3months now but me and everyone who has seen him thinks he's a month or 2 older. The following is what's on the paper from the shelter:

DHLPP:3-13-09
DHLPP:3-27-09
Bordatella: 3-13-09
Panacur: 3-13-09, 3-14-09, 3-15-09
Cestaved (cestoved?) 2 tablets:3-16-09

He's starting puppy classes last week in April to first week in May depending when the current class ends and they get everything arranged for the next class. When would you do the next round of shots, rabies, and neuter? I'm not sure I want to do rabies with everything else but it needs done before class. For neutering I'm thinking of waiting 2 months to see if he goes through any growth spurts, avoid doing it at the same time as his shots, and he'll be settled in a little better. There's no risk of him being around any unspayed adult females so I see no reason to hurry that.

When you say "they say" who is that? Because if this is still a puppy a vet should be able to tell the age pretty closely from the teeth.

The shelter guessed he was 8 weeks when they got him and would therefore be 12weeks now. They seem to be rather over run with dogs and understaffed with knowledgeable people though. They didn't even have a vet there. I'm not sure who does their shots. There are just initials written next to each medication on the record.

You might consider getting him a titer test soon, which could show that he doesn't need to get some of those revaccinated for like 8 years or more. See another recent thread about vaccines for more particulars.

Yearly shots are required for the dog park and dog classes. Titers might be accepted by the group that I do agility and obedience classes with but they would not be accepted by the city which would include access to the dog park. So it wouldn't matter since I can't bring up proof that he ever had shots before these. All it would do is potentially impact my decision on how long to wait and make me argue on why he didn't get a 3rd round of puppy shots before puppy class. I'm probably going to have a fight on my hands as is about not neutering him right now when I take him to the vet. I took Zami to a different vet for her spay because I didn't want her spayed until 10months and the vet would not back off. The other vet costs at least double though with $30 just for the visit before they do anything so I don't use them for routine things like vaccinations. I get opinions elsewhere about what I should do and basically just use the cheaper vet to sign off on things so I have proof of vaccinations or whatever when I take the dogs somewhere.

That's too bad. My town just requires rabies every 3 years. I guess it's normal for the legislature to lag years behind science .
