AMEN!! hope all are warned and do not even go in to be tempted as all puppies are cute, even dogs in cages, stay away advise well worth giving this time of year.

I never have Holiday Puppies as I would not trust selling to the very rich even. Best not to buy a pet at all, maybe a little Budgie male Bird, mine talks and learn in two days a new set of words. I love birds, they are sweet pets for children to learn to care for and work with.

In the UK, pet shops are not allowed to sell puppies or kittens, thank goodness.

There was a pet shop in Witney the other month selling kittens, all moggies, tabby and black and white, and charging 80 for them, and using the fact that there is no adoption process and they do not need to know whether you would spay or neuter, the only thing that you had to do is buy the products on the kitten list from their shop to get one, and that it was all a bargain .

But I do like that post.

My state is trying to pass a bill that prohibits pet shops from selling animals. With the hope of putting an end to byb & designer dogs.

Puppies and kittens can be legally sold through pet shops in the UK providing they are licensed.

It's an excellent article. All informed pet owners should insert a copy in with their Christmas cards.

Just imagine how many possible pet shop purchases might be avoided if the word was spread in such a way. Heck it might catch on so much that pet shop puppies would be a topic of discussion at holiday parties. Just one insert in everyone's greeting cards could have a tremendous snowball effect.

Well none of the pet shops round here sell them, I know that people have asked about buying kittens and they where told that the law will not allow them to sell puppies or kittens, but they can sell rabbits etc.

Sorry to say, but they are - just not in Oxfordshire.
Saddening, isn't it?

Witney is in Oxfordshire, and thats where the kittens were, they just have to apply for a special license.
