Unhappy House Training help

Please can someone give me some advice on what I need to do with my pup.

He is now 14 weeks old and is still wee'ing and poo'ing in the house. He knows to do it outside and when he does he comes running for a treat and a praise but whenever he feels the needs to go when were inside, he finds a discrete place in the utility room and goes, but then twice in the past 24 hours he has done it right in front of us in the lounge in the middle of the room. I take him out for regular breaks outside but sometimes he comes right back in and wee's.

I know he is only young but I thought I would be getting less accidents in the house

I would suggest containing him somehow, or using a crate.
When you take him outside and he doesn't go, put him in the crate for 5 - 10 minutes (be sure to read about crate training first) and then take him outside again. Repeat this process until your pup goes to the bathroom outside, then praise and have some playtime. Also, make sure you are taking your pup outside on a leash. Instead of a crate, you could also use a smaller playpen in the area that your pup plays most often.

Make sure you praise lavishly when he goes outside, and if you catch him in the act, make a loud noise and pick him up, take him outside hopefully to finish. Don't punish him, or he'll learn not to go in front of you.

He might not be comfortable outside yet. Spend some time with him outside playing with toys. That might help a bit with going outside.

Another suggestion I've gotten (Having some problems with my pup as well) is attaching a bell to the door so that the pup can ring it as a way of letting you know he wants to go outside. We are definitely going to try this with our pup, as her way of letting you know she wants to go out is sitting silently by the door, which we don't always catch. She is 4 1/2 months.

Hi Kiz the thing is yes he is only yping but don't let that put you off when he goes out side is in the yard/garden some times? is go out with him and close the door ( so he can't just run back in) till he peforms Re crateing some members belive in them, some don't I personaly don't think you need to but it's a matter of choice I do agree make a big fuss of your pup every time he gets it right (out side) and treat with something tasty he will soon associate with pee/poo out doors = a treat and praise!! Good luck Kiz

Yes Zircon got an instant pig ear for an outdoor poop. This was like gold to him to he caught on quickly. And yes I praise them too to this day (they are about 6 years old) when they pee or poo outside.
