Default Adam's home!

So the day finally arrived and Adam has arrived home
He was very laid back on the journey although he did throw up twice( motion sickness is apparently also a problem walking if your shut in a cat carrier!). Within the first hour home he had eaten his biscuits, used the puppy pads twice and fallen asleep in front of the telly.
My best friend, who came with me to pick him up and who will be looking after him while Im at work, convinced me he'd keep me up allll night but he was very good. I shut him in his cat carrier with a blankie from his breeder and a rawhide chew and put the carrier on the bed with me at midnight. After approx 2 mins of whining he fell asleep. I know you shuldnt leave pups with rawhide chews but it was what he used to at his breeders and I knew I wouldnt be able to sleep the first night anyway. I heard him chewing a couple of times but generally he was fine, I woke him up at 5.30 took him down for a wee and poop then straight back to bed till 8.30.He has a nylabone fish to chew on from tonight and he loves his little den.
The cats reactions vary from evil stares, ignoring, quick sniffs and "lets be friends". I think 5 will get along and 3 probably will continue to ignore him, I know I have a few fights to come til everyone finds their place!

Several things suprised me about puppy ownwership tho;
1. no matter how well you think you swept your floor they still find things on it to eat. Adam likes cat fluff unfortunately
2. Trying to teach sit to a dog who is the size of a large guinea pig is difficult. He is long haired so catching him between bottom planting and front legs coming up is hard!
3. Even tho he is a chihuahua he will never be Parishiltonised. Seriously he smells doggy, acts doggy and looks doggy I can see me spoiling him with cuddles but outfits and people food. err no!
Sry for the long post but Im quite excited. Piccies to follow when I pinch my friends digital camera

Thats great a new puppy YAY. My 2 have always been fine in the car a little nerves but ok, but the strange thing is Freckel gets Scared going under bridges so he hides his head until it's gone then he looks again. lol Can't wait to see pics of the little fella you're going to have such fun.

I bet he'd hate the car.. Just to clarify I dont drive so I had to carry him home for the half hour walk, hence the carrier. Seems like my suspension needs checking if Im that wobbly tho
He seems to have recovered as he's asleep in his carrier under my computer desk. I just introduced him to the rabbits who he seems terrified of.To be fair my "dwarf" lop Amy is 3 times bigger than him

Oh, I can't wait for pics of your Adam. I understand about puppies picking up everything they can find on the floor. Lucy is over a year old now and still manages to find things on the floor. She can clench her jaw closed and its sometimes hard to get things out but she usually listens and drops what she has. Good Luck with the new addition.
