Smile I'm so proud of Oscar

Having recovered from the little incident earlier that I posted about in general, I have stopped panicking about doing a bad job.

Oscar came home on Sunday and he's 9 weeks old now. Every morning at 6, I take Oscar outside and he does his business. The only times he's had had an accident was (in the mornings) when I didn't leave him in the garden for long enough so he rushed in and did it in the kitchen. I've been taking him out every hour or so during the day but he's started taking himself outside when he wants to go. When he's done, he trots to the kitchen in eager anticipation of his treat! SUCCESS!!! He's not had an accident during the night, he can hold on for hours!

With regards to the crate; Oscar no longer cries in there for more than about 30 secs! He doesn't whimper too much at night. And FINALLY, he's starting staying in there when he's sleepy with the door open. I think he's finally worked out this is his 'bedroom' and he quite likes it now. All this in just 4 days!

I was upset when he had a nip and hurt my mum but, to be honest, I was mostly upset because I think she got a fright. Both are fine now. They had lots of cuddles and kisses. It was only play fighting and she was too rough with him.

He is a lovely little boy and he brings me so much love. I've not had an easy time lately but he certainly brights up my day. It's going to take some time getting used to being in the garden at 6 am and dealing with a barking, excited, hyped up puppy at that hour but I'll get used to it!

Congrats on your successful training!
One favorite things about my dog is waking up in the morning to a happy excited puppy. It is a great way to start the day, IMO.

Good for you to calm down and realize a puppy does things we do not like or to happen again. I am so happy you understand it takes some time to be positive in training and we are here to help you. That you feel better also. Great job and keep up the great work honey.....

Oscar is having his first bath today. He's a bit of a garden digger and has muddy paws. It doesn't help that he's creamy and going white so he gets super dirty. I'm getting ready to get soaked by a squirming pup!

First bath wasn't too bad. Poor Oscar did get very nervous and peed all over the bath mat though. I'm sure he'll get used to it.

I'm struggling with the early mornings. He is wild from about 6 to 9 am and VERY naughty. The rest of the day, he's not such a crazy pup! I'll get used to it, I'm sure. It's only been a week.

I love him like crazy and wouldn't be without him. He makes me so happy.

Oscar is beautiful to be sure. I think I already mentioned that I used to own an apricot miniature poodle and a silver toy. Charlie (the min) used to follow hubby around the garden and have a dig! He initially hated having a bath but one day I was in the bath and hubby had been in the garden. He came in and dumped Charlie in the bath with me! Oh Charlie thought this was a great game!

After that I used to take him into the shower with me and have a game with him. When we had games of 'hide and seek' with the poodles, Charlie would go and stand in the shower - he thought he was invisible.

He'll soon get used to having a shower. You should make sure though that you don't over bathe as his fur will lose its oil. A really good shampoo I use is called Neem 40 from Neem Genie. If you want to phone the chemist there he'll advise which shampoo to use for your puppy.

Well done with your training. Pets give us life enrichment you won't get from any human!

Pups is 10 weeks old today. I took my eyes off him for about 2 secs and he managed to climb 3 stairs! I think I will have to invest in a stairgate. He can leap from such great heights. Oscar has grown in size and in confidence. He is better at taking himself out when he wants to play in the garden and whines less when I leave the room. His 2nd jab is on friday and soon we can go walkies. Yay! We have a towel covering his crate and he managed to pull the towel off the top from inside the crate! He's so strong! He must have tugged a corner through the bars.

You are doing really well with Oscar's training. Well done to you both. He is such a cute littlw boy . It will be much easier once you can take him out walking. Give him a big hug from me.

Thank you!

Oscar continues to be a happy little pup. He is not waking up so early and less hyper but still playful and friendly. We haven't mastered "sit" but he knows "kiss". Also, he knows his own name and he understands "no" and "stay" and "wee wee". I am SO proud!

Tomorrow, it's our first trip to the vets for his 2nd injection and soon we'll be able to go walkies. I've tried a little collar on him and he made no fuss at all, he looks very handsome and grown-up! I'm a bit worried about his eyes and one of them looks infected. Apart from that, he seems in good health.

I love him so much. I never thought I could be capable of loving a little doggy so much.

It's taken me ages to write this. Oscar keeps walking across the laptop. He's meant to be sitting next to me while I type with it on my lap but he leaps up and walks across the keyboard.
