Oh Sweetie, do not despair it is yet a puppy and is relying on old mom yet. Take him for private walks, talk to him, stop and give him a big hug, let him know your his first and foremost now. Mom is the one he sees most but not saying he has bonded yet, u feed him ........NOT mom, let him wait till u get home sit down while it eats and pet his nose, ears and make him non food agressive this way also. Give him tons of love, if he can sleep with you shut the door and take him to bed. Keep working on him and soon he will find u love him more than all things...............

I've found a really great way of bonding with my dogs is simply through training. Take him out into the garden with some treats and practice various things i.e. sit, stay, lie down, come, give the paw whatever you like. That one on one time seems to really help them to bond with you and look upto you. I have a 9 week old puppy who I've been doing basic commands with and they love it if you keep it fun and she's already bonding really well. 5 or 10 minutes once, or even better a few times a day will really help (and have a game at the end, it always works for me )

Good luck!

ya i do EVERYTHING with him, but my mom happens to be the one that gets home and puts the food out for him because she feeds her own two dogs at the same time, so i tend not to say anything but as soon as she gets home he just jumps right out of my hands and goes straight to her all night..till its time for bed then i do everything with him again till she gets home..

I totally agree with MegBonnie, training creates a really really strong bond with your dog. If you feed dry food, why not ask Mum to leave your puppy's portion aside on the bench when she feeds the other two, then when you get home you can use each piece as a reward while you are training. Very quickly you will have your puppy's undivided attention.
