Default Pumpernickel and Nikki gave birth

Hello everyone, i have been away for a while, but i'm back with good news

It is a first for me to have2 of my dogs pregnant almost at the same time, but it is a new experience.

I posted in my pics one of pumpernickel with her puppies at are now 2 weeks old and 1 with nikki and some of her puppies taken after birth yesterday.

Pimp originally had a litter of 6,one we had to euthanise because of a cleft palate and one died saturday caught in a middle of a fight between my dogs, nikki managed to follow one of my kids in the room and pimp who is over protective(and that is normale) jumped on her and accidently killed a puppy.

Nikki gave us 7 puppies, all healthy, but in the end she tried to gather all of them and she accidently chipped of an ear from one of her puppie, after that she just didn't wanna take care of that puppie,we cleaned the wound and deceide to have a try with Pumpernickel, after loosing 2 puppies, she immediately took over this one as her own. even the other puppies are taking care of the little one.

Pumpernickel is 2 year old and it is her first litter, Nikki is now 5 years old and it's her 3rd litter, probably the last one also, the pregancy and birth was perfect and easy, but recuparating is something else for her.
Now she is always looking over her shoulder and seeking approbation from us before handeling a puppie or feeding.

Both dogs are healthy, we have to seperate them because they are over protective of their litter, together without the puppies they are fine, they act like they always do. Still is funny to see them react to each other litter crying, and standing guard next to the door, til the puppies stop crying.

I'll post some pics from week to week so you can watch the puppies grow.
and keep you posted.

WOW things must be pretty exciting at your place! Glad to hear it is going well for the most part. The pics are sweet, I like how the puppies color matches their moms so well.

And honey you can always bottle feed that little one if it does not do well enough on other female. How nice, I have 5 puppies born May 23, Girle it an outstanding mother. Got her out yesterday, Sunday to run a tad bit, she will not leave her babies not even for me. she is my favorite if I need to choose one.

Nice puppies, and now you must start to post them up, puppies we love here. The Best to all of you honey.....Whelping is not as much fun as one might think, huh? Very stressful and heartbreaking.

Yes very stressing!!!

I can handle 1 dog pregnant, but honest never 2 at the same time again!!!!!

they usually go within 2 to 3 months apart,so when one's litter is almost weaned and ready to go the other give's birth, all goes well then.

But this time around, loosing one to a cleft palate was hard on me i get attached too fast, and then loosing the other one in a fight between moms.

this 3rd one with the ear, was a bit hard on me, we are bottle feeding her, at the same time Pumpernickel is feeding her, because since her puppies are 2 weeks now, they need less frequent feeding.

So far so good so i'm crossing my fingers!!!

We named this little one, hearringzzz. it was my hubby's idea!!

i'll take some pics of her tonite and post them tomorrow.

Now my question for this little one i do hope i can still find a good home, after all it's only one ear missing, i will see with my vet also if it would be better or more esthetic to have the other one clipped???

I just want good homes for my pupps, and if someone really wants a good dog, ears or no ears it should'nt matter.

If you were in the UK I'd have him! I come from a family of people who go for the dogs with something wrong/missing...I find it endearing

my rough collie only has half a tail, her mum bit it off when she was a pup and the breeder couldn't sell her as normal. I fell in love with her, stump or not and now she's a spoiled little baggage. My gran has 2 dachie litter brothers, one was the 'runt' and had a bone condition which means he's half the size of the others and has one back leg shorter than the others. When he runs his little leg just kinda flaps about, lol. She, like me, couldn't resist the odd one out.

You'll find someone who'll take the puppy, if they're not going to show the dog what does it matter?

Well we went to the Vet yesterday, my pupps are a in good health, and Hearringzzzz is just getting better end better, her ear has healed well.

The oldest ones only weight 1.5 lbs so still a bit to small to start deworming.

Heres is a pic of Hearringzzz
