Default Lilly now 5 months (border collie)

hi all, i know i havent been about for a while, thats cause i havent had any problems untill now lol

ill start with the positives
1) i can take her off the lead and she will run about with other dogs very nicely and come back when called
2) Stopped crying at night, even though i took the crate away she now has a normal dog bed, the crate didnt work out i brought a bigger one to save money on the long run, but she just kept using it as a toilet, and it was a nightmare to clean out every morning.
3) She now JUMPS into the car where as before i used to have to drag her into the boot, she doesnt drool either.

i think Lilly gets board, when im out i leave her in the kitchen with a few toys when i get back, shes eaten my wall paper off the walls, dragged my CLEAN washing into her bed and slept on it, if not pee'd on it
And theres MESS everywhere, im not out long it varies from 30-60 minsx 9 times out of 10 its cause im doing the school run. SO what can i make or do to stop Lilly being bored, and whats KONG??

Oh 1 more think is Lilly to small for bones still?? shes 5 1/2 months now

Thanks all x

I would recrate her!.Get a smaller crate that is just big enough for her to turn in it and lie down so that she can't soil her bed!.It will avoid any wall eating,etc..!.Start with 10mn and then, add time until she is confortable in it!.Give her a kong filled in with stuff in it and puppie bones so that she doesn't get bored!.A kong is a plastic toy that is hollow that you can feel with kibble and treats with peanut butter ,etc....It's great for pups!.
RIP, my beloved Priska!.

Border Collies are high energy dogs & need lots of mental & physical exercise. She may also be teething, a time when they chew everything in sight. At this age she shouldn't get too much physical exercise, just a gentle walk a couple of times per day. When she's fully grown they can walk 25 miles or so, lol. If they don't get a job to do, they will be bored. Do you take her to an obedience club? I used to take April 5 times a week to 2 clubs, 4 times to obedience & once to agility.
As for raw meaty bones, she can have raw chicken wings & lamb ribs. Watch to see she chews them & not to try & swallow hole, which is what Sooty used to do as a pup.
I had no problems toilet training my 2 dogs, but they were trained to go outside after eating/drinking, sleeping, playing & every hour in between. Sooty was trained at 10 weeks. It surprised me one Christmas, when after being out for 7 hours I came home to a dry & clean room.
Something that we suggest to our obedience club members is when they go out, to scatter the dog's breakfast over the backyard. It gives them something to do for 30 or so minutes instead of the usual minute.

Thanks to skunkstripe for my beautiful, new, siggy. I HAVE BEEN KISSED!! sheplovr. thanks
"I'm chillin' with the forum! "thanx sheplovr
"I've been fleeced by Draco!" thanx.

I am not to shore if you should take my advice lol but I found my dog was better when he had the run of the house. if I locked him in one room he would get upset and cry and chew but if i left him have the run' he would sleep in front of the TV
