Exclamation Eating mud

Halle, my Lab is now just over 13 weeks & growing fast. Ever since we have had her (5 weeks now) she seems to take a liking to mud. As fast as we tell her off for eating mud, she just turns around & eats it some somewhere else.
We have tried to discourage her from eating it, but she still continues to do so. There are areas of mud in our small garden that can be covered up, but obviously not all.
Will it do her any harm? Has anyone any suggestions to try & stop her eating mud.

Do not worry there are rare minerals in dirt or mud. My dogs have never dug such a hole the past month or two than ever!! I had to fill it in with alot of dirt, place some cement ornaments on it, they stopped. I had little mud balls on the porch inside here, I thought at first it was poo they were picking up till I posted a picture many said: They are digging their way to China. lol.
My horses used to do this and the vet said it will not harm them, they are craving a mineral nobody can give them but in dirt. Mine are fine now they got their fill. It will not harm your pet.
