Question New Shih Tzu, but allergy!

My husband always wants a big dog, but due to his allergy with dogs so we decided to have a non-shading dog. I wanted to have a poodle, but Rob wouldn't want a lady-dog(that's what he said). Finally, we got a puppy 7 weeks old Shih Tzu last Thursday.

On Friday, my husband told me that he has a little difficulty with breathing and I could hear a little rattling sound when he breathed out.
I was looking for every website to get some help because we really want to keep our new puppy. I found one spray called "Petal Cleanse". Does anyone know about this product?

What can I do? I can't return my puppy to the previous owner as I haven't asked whether I could return her.

Hi lydiaplant and welcome to the forum!
Sorry to hear about this! But you know what, shedding is only one reason that people can be allergic to dogs. Another reason can be the dander.
But anyway, it looks like the real problem is that your husband is allergic to something about your little dog! I haven't heard of the Petal Cleanse, but maybe the Allerpet-D will help? http://www.wonderpuppy.net/canwehelp/1allergy.php
Good luck!

Do you have a air purifier? If not, they are great when you have pets and someone with allergies or even asthma. Also I would keep the pup out of the bedroom.
I buy mine here!

Thank you very much for welcoming me.

I will do anything to keep my little pup. Her name is "Bang gu". It is Korean word for "fart". My English husband has got a sense of humour. No one would understand the meaning when we call her in the UK.

I found the Petal Cleanse and it is good for the Allergeries for hubby, must maybe give it some time.? http://www1.uk.shopping.com/xDN-pets-petal_cleanse
I would also invest in an air purifer, I have two running all the time more for dust in the air, but dogs do have dander same thing almost. It might help so u can keep the new puppy, they are sooo cute. Good luck and hope it all works out. All dogs shed some, all drop some hair, some like this just not like the normal dogs. airdales, schnauzers, yorkies, etc do not shed like other breeds, but they still will drop some hair.

Sitting here thinking, pups cost a lot of money especially when a member of the family as allergies. Well in my case my partner has asthma so I have to do everything in my power to keep the pet hair, dander, and air clean. For you to keep these problems down, get a good pet friendly vaccum cleaner. Also a air purifier like I said above, and also get a good quailty pet shampoo.
Its hard work and money, but we love our animals.
